Objectives

The program is relevant for students who want to qualify for working on an advanced level within private, public and non-governmental organisations. The program focusses in depth on the changing relationship between society and organisations and what consequences this might have for developing and managing organisations. Our goal is that after completing this program, you will have a better basis on which to reflect on complex situations which you and your collegues will encounter in your (future) organisation, making you more competent to choose viable solutions to the problems.

Prerequisites

Admission to this program requires a bachelor degree or at least 3 years studies in social sciences, economic-administrative subjects or similar.

Competence

Master degree in Change and Management

Study Structure

The program consists of the following elements: 3 compulsory courses totalling 40 credits, thesis outline and master thesis totalling 50 credits. In addition 30 credits may be taken from other programs at HSM ( including the program in health- and social management given in collaboration with Ålesund and Volda University colleges), from the Master Program in Planning at Volda University College, or from other approved programs at Norwegian or foreign Universities/Colleges. Due to practical reasons, all optional courses must be taken in the same semester, which will make it feasible for the student of physically staying at another university/college for an entire semester.
