Learning outcome

The course will prepare students to become familiar with innovation as it occurs in organizations and the society at large. The importance of technology in organizational change and innovation will be central in the course.

Content
  • The institutional framework for organizational processes and innovation. Organizational networks.
  • Innovation and adaptation to the global economy, from Fordism and mass production to flexible Post-fordist production systems.
  • Innovation in organizations
  • What is technology and what is the function of technology in society? What is the relationship between knowledge, competence and technical devices (e.g. machine, tools, etc.)
  • How new technology and information technology affects the structure and operation of companies and organizations.
