None other than the entry requirements for the MSc Logistics programme. A background equivalent to LOG200 Microeconomics, TRA310 Transport Economics and SCM200 Introduction to SCM is recommended.
4 hours of lectures and seminars per week. The lecturing is paused when other intensive seminars are running.
An essay counts 40% of final grade. The deadline for submission of the essay is May 1. A 4-hour written final examination counts 60% of the grade. The final grade is a calculated a weighted sum of the grades given, regardless of a pass / non pass in the individual grades given.
The course gives an introduction to the analysis of international shipping markets and the economics of international shipping. Students will obtain a basic understanding of how different political frameworks affect shipping, and gain some experience in analysing the reasons for shipping market developments.
The essay will give students tutored training in independent analysis of a problem linked to international shipping.
